Many people reach out to a professional like me, and you don't have to 'do life' on your own. If you can relate to some of the following concerns then it's likely I can help:
These questions summarise just some of the ways in which clients start explaining their life before we work together to help this change.
"I spent years trying to ignore, 'get through' or run from my mind and self. Nothing got better, it certainly got worse, until I started therapy with an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor. Now I'm that person, here to help you".
I have included information to give you insight about my professional approach, my background and the high-quality service I provide.
Use one of the Contact Options to arrange a free, introductory call so you can ask me questions about my approach to therapy, my availability and if my experience matches what you need.
Let me know if you would like to start having therapy with me, and arrange a full appointment Depending on our schedules, we can often find an appointment within a matter of days. You will be sent information to pay in advance so that the appointment is kept for you.
For online appointments, clients will be sent a link to the online waiting room. Further information, including the address in Sale, south Manchester, will be sent to clients having face-to-face appointments once the payment has been received. Then the healing begins to unfold.
My own self and life experience positively combine with years of professional training to ensure I provide safe, effective and ethical therapy to every client I meet. My life has been varied, hectic, boring, painful, joyful at different times. I have been an NHS professional, and still work part-time as a university academic, experienced in managing large projects and delivering teaching to thousands of students in the UK and abroad. My sobriety from alcohol since 1999 continues through groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, and I benefit so much from helping others achieve the same. I have had to get better at self-care to live with a painful chronic physical disability, and practiced this even harder to live through periods of depression.
Underneath I am a gay man, who grew up through year's of societal hatred, experienced physical abuse and never thought I would have the life I have today - blessed with a long-term interracial civil partnership, an uncle, a godfather, and still a loving brother and son. I've written a bit more about my Recovery Journey to help inspire other people to get the help that they deserve, including you.
Clients can be assured of professional and personal values that are founded in compassion, empathy, acceptance, and understanding and I provide a magical safe space for you to be you, regardless of circumstances, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, and diversity of Gender, Sex, Relationship (GSRD/ LGBTQI+ affirming) and regardless of what you might have done or be doing now.
